I agree with "pain of payment"will reduce unnecessary shopping.
When we make a payment with a card, just enter the pin of sign the name. This process is going fast, we do not have chance to make the last decision that it is really necessary for me. Sometimes, we even do not care about the value of what  we will buy. we miss the process of counting cash and handing over them. I can not feel pain of giveing amount of money out, except get a receipt with lot of small letters and numbers. We just see the number of the card balance have been change, we can not immage how much money the number what has been charge means.

Assignement

I agree with the idea, that the advertisement are the most prevalent and toxic of the mental pollutants, but the coin has always two sides. There are so many advertisements everywhere you go, it follows us anywhere: at home, when you watch tv or listen the radio, in the streets on the billboard, in the bus, newspaper and many many more places. From getting so much of advertisement every day, our brain doesn't react to it any more, and it disturb us so much, that we trying to avoid  it, by changing the channel on tv or change the radio station. By doing so, we still cannot  completely remove the advertisement from our vision or  hearing, like it says  by the autor of  the statement: " I often used to hear Beethoven's Ninth Symphony play in my head, now I hear that kid singing the Oscar Meyer song". What does it mean? It means that our ears hear things,  that's doesn't  educate us, or give  us some good information, or may be motive us for something good, it full our brain with non useful information. Who needs advertisement? Now days many companies, who just stared their business or some trying to sell new products, need to advertise to be seen. It is a psychological thinking, that the more people see the more they know, the more they buy. There are some advertisements  that convince people to buy products that they want more then the things that they need. For example, fast food, many people know it is not good for the health, but the colorful advertisement on the screen and enticing words make them want to buy it, and advertisement like this are everywhere,  for different thinks and different stuff. They playing with peoples minds.  But there is a good side of advertisement too, especially if it is good product, that people really need in their use.  Good products  don't need much of the advertisement, people, after using them, will share the information, about quality, name and brand, so it will give more trust to it  for others, who wants to buy it. People need right advertisement, with helpful information or some sort of education in it. Advertisement is  the mirror of our society.
From the things that I see and notice, I have this story, that happened to my father and he doesn't believe in advertisement at all. One day, he felt this big bain in his back, and it didn't go away for a long time. He visited doctors and used all the medication he knew, but the pain still bothered him time to time. The advertisement, that he saw so many times on tv, was talking about just exact the same pain he had, and it also gave the information that were saying about magic release from that pain, by using  the product in this advertisement, he didn't believe in it, but after seeing so many times and being in pain, for the person who doesn't believe in advertisement, something convince him so much, and made believe to what this advertisement were saying, he bought it. But after some time, he was disappointed, it didn't help him to release the pain and made not to believe in commercials even more.
As it says, coin always has two sides, there is  positive and negative aspects in many situations. Too much of something is not good in anything we do.

Please post what you've had written in class about this article.

2/9 Writing about Flirting with Devices

As I said in class, please write a paragraph about this passage where you agree or disagree, or agree and disagree, about whether using this technology can help a single individual "flirt their way to romantic attachment." Note: the devices allow you to flirt, but are these devices able to flirt effectively? are you able to secure romance after flirting by using them? Make sure to ground your writing in a personal experience, a a reading or an observation.

Flirting Tips for the Tongue-Tied, or the Simply Shy By Bob Tedeschi

Some people are born flirts. For everyone else, a pocket-size Cyrano de Bergerac awaits.

With Valentine’s Day approaching, more apps to help singles flirt their way to romantic attachment are popping up on mobile devices.

The Web abounds with matchmaking sites like Match.com, eHarmony, Jazzed and Grindr, and all those services have apps for people who want to arrange dates remotely.

But flirting apps are different. Some are meant to solve the so-called last yard problem, in which a prospective flirter might lose nerve to say hello, while other apps help people engage more with people they’ve already met.

IFlirt4U ($1 on Apple) is for the first-time encounter. It’s for across-the room flirtations, presumable in dark and loud nightclubs. The app displays short, flirty phrases on the screen, one word at a time, in extra-large white type against a black background.

Just point the phone at your crush and let it do the work.

It has seven phrases to choose from, including the traditional lines like “you are cute,” “you are hot” and “can I buy you a drink?” (Given the huge value of many free apps, it’s a little disconcerting to see only seven phrases in this app for $1. But if it manages to help someone secure a data, it’s arguably worth the buck.)

The phrases appear slowly on the screen, and in a typeface big enough that recipients could understand them from 10 yards away—plus or minus a couple of yards, depending on the recipient’s blood alcohol content and visual acuity.

Sometimes there is a second helpful step. The “Can I get your number?” screen includes small yes and no buttons. The no button yields a “too bad!” message, but the yes button opens the phone’s contact list to a new page.

Building Vocabulary First Week

As I had mentioned in class, every week you will need to find two words you don't know in articles that you've read and post them on the blog, along with the sentence you found them in and the link to the text that the sentences are found. It's probably a good idea to add what you believe is the meaning of the word. To this blog post, you can post the first two words you've found. Don't worry if you guys repeat words, as long as you found it in a different sentence.

*PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE POSTING A SENTENCE AND A DEFINITION*
